Brown & Company was incorporated in 1995 and certified as minority owned small business by the Commonwealth of Virginia. The firm operates as a professional limited liability company licensed to practice in Maryland, Virginia, the District of Columbia, and other jurisdictions. The firm is in good standing with American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and received the highest rating of PASS on the 2015 AICPA Peer Review.

Under the direction of three Members/Partners with decades of public accounting experience and highly-trained as Certified Public Accountants (CPA), Certified Government Financial Managers (CGFM), Chartered Global Management Accountants (CGMA), Certified Information Systems Auditors (CISA), Certified Information System Manager (CISM) and Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) professionals, the firm enables clients to seamlessly keep pace with the challenges of financial accountability and information systems security.
